Five members from Area IV attended the outstanding Leadership Retreat in Sacramento on January 24 and 25. The content included values, skills, and improved communication. Participants were trained on how to understand their own style and to improve relations among people with different styles.
There were fifty three attendees from throughout the state and everyone was overwhelmed with their positive outcomes in improved listening and team participation skills. Scholarships are available for members to attend this valuable annual event. |

Presidents' Meeting - End of the 2014 - Darcy's home - Reflecting on a Super Biennium!
Your presidents met on June 21, 2014 at the lovely home of Darcy Anderson to reflect and share their gratitude for the work done in the past biennium. This team, under the leadership of Sue Hughes and Vivian Reif, has accomplished two great Area Workshops, given grants to several community groups and really worked together to make Area IV the best ever.
The six hundred seventy-six dollars raised from your generous donations to the gift baskets at the Area IV Conference was given in grant form to College of Adaptive Arts in the amount of $300, to the Alum Rock Jazz Band in the amount of $300, and as a memorial for our deceased colleague and president of Zeta Omega, Boni Calder, to the Chi State Education Center in the amount of $76.
Julie Nguyen, one of our student teacher award recipients, shared the support she received from Delta Kappa Gamma and how grateful she was to have a network on mentors. She has obtained a job at Noddin School where she student taught. It is always a blessing to hear how our support of early career educators is making an impact.
